6 PIECES OF ADVICE TO MY YOUNGER BLOGGING SELF

Since my Anniversary week theme is GROWTH figured I’ll share 6 Pieces of Advice with my younger blogging self, more like 6 things I wish I knew when I launched my blog 6 years ago!! When I started blogging I didn’t have half of the things we do now. Stuff like blogging coaches, TONSSSSS of articles and blogs on how to start a blog, how to grow a blog, how to be a badass blogger and so on…

So if I could go back to June 27, 2011 I would tell my younger blogging self…

You are an outfit blogger…

Over the years I find myself trying to add different topics like beauty, travel or getting into info blogging but I am an outfit blogger. A good one at that. Trying to do what other bloggers are doing or trying to keep up with the latest blogging trends simply held back my growth. Younger Priiincesss, your outfit photos are BOMB and your followers are following you because they like your PERSONAL style. Create Create Create..

 Consistency is key…

You can have all the talent, the best product but when it’s all said and done if you are NOT consistent, you will NOT grow. If I knew how important consistency was 6 years ago I would have been soooo much further in my blogging career. But then again I wouldn’t learn half of the things I’ve learned through the process of figuring it out. Younger Priiincesss, be consistent and trust the process..

Growth is needed…

Truth is, if you are not growing then you are dying. My content looks NOTHING like it did few years ago. Growth is part of our hero story so learn to move with time and track your progress as you go!! Younger Priiincesss, continue to evolve and don’t be afraid to try new things.

Understand Your Greatness…

Being great is not about being perfect, what truly makes you great is the fact that you are RESILIENT. You set goals and work your ass off to achieve them. Younger Priiincesss, you are greatness, it’s ok to be the hardest working girl in the room, always be ready and willing to selflessly serve others, passion is your superpower and love is your strength!!

Its ok to say no…

Don’t believe the hype, it’s perfectly ok to say NO. If it don’t align with your brand the answer is no. Younger Priiincesss, I know being a new blogger you think you have to be everywhere and associate yourself with everyone but you really don’t. Yes, it’s important to network, make blogging/media friends, but just don’t lose yourself or your voice trying to fit in.  Stay true to who you are!!

Focus on the work…

My darling Younger Priiincesss, money will come, influence will come but right here, right now FOCUS ON THE WORK! Use these slow seasons to be a better blogger. Learn as much as you can to grow your blog. Put tools and systems in place so when your blog does grow, you’ll be prepared!  Nothing worth having come easy, and this blogging journey will shape you into the woman you hope to be! Keep going and enjoy the ride 😉
